Is it a popular niche where everyone is looking for that information, is it competitive, or are you blogging about big ticket items that only a few people are searching for?
Your skills
Have you been trained to drive traffic? Have you learned how to become the expert in your niche? Have you been trained to do on-page SEO? Do you know how to make a post readable and that doesn’t mean whether or not you know how to write? Can you make a post visually appealing. Are you ranked in Google? What position are you in and for what term?
You can teach yourself how to do these things, but it’s always better if you have support. Once you have support and proper training, it really does not take a lot of time depending on what your blog is about.
However, if you haven’t been properly trained, it can take an insane amount of time because you don’t know if you are progressing and when you can measure your progress everything is still trial and error going forward.
