To anybody wanting to know how to learn internet marketing online, you first should have it clear in your mind exactly what it is. Free yourself from the image of spam, automated e-mails, and general harassment of the public. That is not Internet Marketing.

Internet Marketing is basically using tools available on the Internet, such as blogs, articles, affiliate programs, advertising platforms such as Google ad-sense, and social sites, to promote a product or information that you receive an income for providing. True Internet Marketing is only successful if you are providing useful information in the form of quality content, and therefore, spamming and infinite back-linking will not lead to success.

For anybody who wishes to learn Internet Marketing, you must be very wary. This is one of the biggest industries in itself online, and naturally there are thousands of products out there that do nothing except take your money.

You must have seen adverts out there along the lines of: "Give me your money and you will make money online"

1.) Regular updates: The Internet moves at a rapid speed and you don't want to learn information that is already old.

2.) Not purely forum based: There are some good forums, but a lot of them have conflicting information and plain wrong information, if you join a community, it should be more than just a free-for-all forum.

3.) Expert advice: This is surely self-explanatory, but how can you tell if someone is an expert? Usually because they leave emotions out of it and don't make promises of X income in X time. A real expert talks about the work you will need to do.

4.) They help you BEFORE they ask for money: Many services offer you brief help but mostly offer you a reason why you should buy their services. I personally prefer to follow advice of people who are giving me the information first, to prove that their services are worth paying for.

5.) They do not use flashy banners: For some reason, flashy banners usually scare me away. Bad English doesn't help either.

6.) Be wary of anything that says "You will make $$$ in a short period of time": These are just plain lies.

These are just a few tips that you should have in mind when reading reviews of learning platforms. There are many out there so I would advise you to take your time when researching different platforms. If you follow my tips though, it should save you from getting bitten.
