A Very Humbling $12,803.26 Month - August Progress Report
Wealthy Affiliate member Raph was debating weather to write this post. Not to brag but he wanted to provide value to wealthy affiliate members. During the month of august he ad a humbling experience. He was on track to make 24k a month but one of his merchants went offline. He was able to straighten everything out. So you want to learn about internet marketing. There are many product out there but a few things come to mind when it comes to learning about internet marketing and making money online.
1. Find someone who is DOING it and MAKING MONEY. You don't want theories. You want to find someone in the real world making it happen. This will probably lead to...
2. Networking. Never network for the sake of networking as it will eat up your time like nothing else. Network strategically. Ask yourself: Do online marketers have a Meet Up group I can visit? Is there a local group that has online marketers? Which Facebook and LinkedIn groups are best for this? (Do offline or online or both. What’s important is you do whichever is most effective for you.)
3. Learn. You've been doing this, however I have to say that it's easy to get sucked up in "learning a lot of things" that are not relevant to the business you want to build. Find some respected online marketers and follow them. Join their subscriber list on their website and also connect via social media. Absorb what they are saying and how they are saying it.
4. Buying triggers. There are 5 key reasons people buy: Love, money, time, career, health. If you spend this week observing, you'll see this is true. People spend money to stay healthy, to make more money, to get training to advance their career, etc. People will do whatever it takes to spend more time with their family, kids, etc. Whatever you sell online HAS to be connected to one or two of these triggers.
People don't wake up in the middle of the night saying things like, "I've got to get a life coach!" or "I've got to hire a professional organizer!" (No disrespect to those jobs. They're both great.)
People DO wake up in the middle of the night saying, "I've got to lose weight!" or "I have got to start making more money!" Connect your business to one of those in some way.
5. Both/and. Since you want to look for someone with academic learning, go for it. That's fine. However, I would add to that - find someone who is doing it now in the real world and making money. I have 2 degrees so I'm not against academia, but my eyes have been opened in recent years to befriending those out in the world making it happen. (Some professors are making it happen as well). Learn from both sides of the fence.

How Do I Make Money On The Internet While In College?
There are lots of things you can do as a college student; it depends on what your skills are and if you need the money soon or sometime in the future. Let’s have a look at each.
If you need money soon, then you have three choices: micro jobs, teaching online or freelancing. All three are fine but the problem is they don’t really give you a long term income.
Well, that’s not quite true. If you do freelancing and you can charge a decent amount of money, then you could subcontract the work out; that will give you a long-term income.
But for a long-term, sustainable income, you really need to go for something which can earn you a passive income, such as affiliate marketing, drop shipping, or Kindle eBook publishing.
Each requires work, patience and perseverance. However, there are also some differences.
1.Affiliate Marketing
Affiliate marketing is probably the easiest of the three, especially if you are completely broke. I don’t recommend trying to learn it for free but if you have absolutely no money, affiliate marketing is the way to go. You’ll need a fair amount of free time to work on it though so if you are really busy in college, it might not be the best choice.
2.Drop Shipping
Drop shipping is a little bit more difficult technically speaking. If you have some money and some time this may be the best bet. I always think that drop shipping is something people should do after learning affiliate marketing, but I don’t necessarily think that’s obligatory; probably because that’s how I learned.
3.Kindle eBook Publishing
If you have money but no time and no skills, this may be your best bet. You can outsource almost all the work, although you will have to do some marketing. It’s really passive (once you have got everything set up), so this one will give you the most time to do your college work and make money online.
Whatever you do, keep calm. It’s easy to get all caught up in the moment but the best thing is to take your time, make a decision when you’re ready, and then stick at it. That’s the best chance of success.

The best affiliate marketing course for a beginner or anyone for that matter can be any course. Let me explain…
When it comes down to it any courses can produce successful results. You just need to take action by applying what is taught and stay consistent with it.
I find most people have the skill and knowledge to be successful with affiliate marketing; but what they’re lacking is taking consistent action. Instead they’re in a cycle of trying to learn more and take more courses in hopes of finding a solution that will make them rich overnight.

I'm interested in affiliate marketing but I don’t know where to start or the best ways to go about it. Is it worth it?
First, yes it is worth it.
But . . . affiliate marketing is too often touted as a quick and easy way to make a buck. That may have been true in the past, to some degree, however that mindset will doom you to failure.
Affiliate marketing is a means of monetizing, of generating income - it should not be viewed as the business itself. It is simply the revenue model that you’re using.
The place to start is to choose a group, a market, you feel you can help - or that you want to help. Evaluate their problems, find solutions, and then SELL (active as opposed to passive) those solutions.
You need 4 things -
An offer. What do you have of value? Even if what you’re selling is value created by someone else, YOU must still bring value to the equation. Maybe you’re great at driving traffic, or maybe you have unique insight into a product that helps people better see and extract its value.
Traffic. Can you locate where your audience is, right now - specifically? Unless the answer is “yes”, as with any business, you’d be foolish to begin investing time and money until you KNOW where your market is.
A simple conversion process. Putting up articles with banner ads is not an effective process. An understanding of the buying decision cycle is necessary.
Build a list. Hustling new business every day in a changing market is a grind. The only real asset you have are the lists you build so they are critical, and often neglected, by affiliates.
