So the other day I was having a conversation with a friend of mine That I haven't seen in a while and he asked me what have I been up to. I told him I have been making money online from home. So naturally he was curious and was asking me how I was doing it. I told him that I was promoting other companies products for a commission. At this point he didn't really understand so I used to example of buying stuff online.
So I am pretty sure you have bought stuff online. So when you buy stuff online more than likely there is an "affiliate" behind it. (An affiliate is a person who promotes other companies products for a commission). When you buy that product through the affiliates affiliate link the affiliate gets a commission out of the sale. These commissions can rage from %5 %10 percent with some affiliate programs you can make up to %75 percent.
At this point my friend got very interested and wanted to know more about it. So I explained to him that this was not some "get rich quick" type of thing. If you are not determined to make money online, you’re going to fail. If you’re not willing to put in the hard work that it takes to build a business online, you’re going to fail. And if you not willing to understand that it’s going to take time to build this business, you’re going to fail.
But he was still interested. So I told him that if you are just starting out to start reading discussion forums about how to make money online or he could take a look at this site.
These days there are many ways that you can make money online. Do you have a skill? You can go over to sites like fiverr.com and offer your services. Fiverr is a freelance community where you can sell your services. So you could be a designer, a writer, video editor, you could do voiceovers, etc. The gigs, and that’s what they’re known as are endless.
And the advantage of fiverr is everything is there for you, you just have to set up your seller’s account. Now you don’t have to worry about having a website or worry about developing traffic. Your on their platform and millions and millions of people know of fiverr so the traffic is already coming there, you just have to provide a superior service.
Another way you can make money online is becoming an affiliate marketer. I explained to you earlier through my example but I want to give you another example. To put it in a better perspective, let’s say you and your group of friends are really into the fitness, and you find a very cool spin class. Well what’s going to happen when you’re hanging out with your friends the next time you see them? You’re probably going to tell your friends about this fantastic spin class you just went to and that they should give it a try.
So all you’re doing is recommending this spin class. Now let’s just put a little affiliate marketing twist on this. The instructor said for every person you bring to my spin class I’ll give you $5 off the cost of your spin classes. So you’re now getting rewarded for recommending this spin class to your friends. And that’s exactly what I do online.
Now this is just one example but do you see where I'm going with this? There are many products that you can promote to earn commissions. Aldo most affiliate programs are free to join.
Here is why I think affiliate marketing is the best way to make money online. You can start for free and you don't need to have a product or service. I just promote the product or service that I am interested in. Do you have an interest or a hobby? You can build a fulltime online business off of that.
But again I would like to stress that making money online and building your own online business is going to take time. If you are consistent the average time it takes to see revenue is 6- to 12 months. Can you put in that much time to see results? If you can't then this business is not for you.
