If you are a newbie trying to make money online getting traffic to your website is one of the most challenging. Not just traffic but converting traffic. There are many traffic sources out there and if you are just starting out it can get a little confusing on what to concentrate on.
What actually happens is most marketers move from one traffic source to another. One day it might be that SEO is the hot traffic source then they might have read that someone make a lot of money with facebook traffic then it could be video traffic. But if you focus on all of these traffic sources it would be a big waste of time.
This is not to say that these traffic sources don't work but in order for it to work you need to put in consistent effort to see results. If you are just starting out with traffic sources I would concentrate on one traffic source. Keep working that traffic source until you see results. Then you could look at other traffic sources to scale your business.
But here's the thing.... not all traffic sources are created equal. I could go to a website that offers traffic to your site and they offer 10k visitors for $5- 10 dollars. But if you think about it what type of traffic can you get for $5 dollars or sales for that matter. I have done this and its a big waste of time. Sure if the traffic converted into sales I would buy that traffic all day everyday.
So what is the best traffic source to focus on? If you are just starting out I would focus on SEO traffic. The reason why this traffic converts so well is because of the searchers intent.
Think about what happens when you buy a product online. After you have done your due diligence and research, the next step is to purchase the product.
So you’re at a point in your buying cycle where you are ready to plug in your credit card details and purchase the product.
So now it becomes a case of finding where or who to purchase the product from.
So you perform a quick search in Google and you find a review that supports all of you initial intentions of why you want to buy the product and so you purchase the product through that website.
These are the types of keyword phrase you need to target (i.e.) the phrases where people are at the end of their buying cycle and ready to commit to the purchase.
And do you know what the best part is? This type of traffic is FREE and just about anyone can generate this type of traffic using a blog.
