1. Doing Research - The first step that you need to do is research. Many people when they start out skip this step. In doing your research you must figure out what people are buying. There is no point in trying to sell something if you don't know what people are buying.

I would also like to add that you also need to have a plan in place. With starting your own business what is it that you want to do? For example do you want to build a website that makes money? 2. Building Your Website - Today if you want to make it online you need a website. I personally think you don't need an authority website. A one page website will do, it's called a squeeze page.

I would like to mention that most people don't even attempt to build a website or a squeeze page because it too technical for them and when this happens most people don't make any money online. To correct this you can outsource this type of work but for the average person this will cost a lot of money. To outsource a squeeze page alone will cost you thousands of dollars. If you are just starting out with making money online the smart thing would be to get yourself a mentor. Don't just get any mentor though. Get a mentor that is an expert in what you want to learn about making money online. This will cut down the learning curve.

3. Getting Traffic To Your Site - This is the lifeblood of any online business. When I started online I didn't have the money to spend so I used all free methods. It still works but you need to be consistent with it. But if you do have the money to spend I would invest in paid traffic. In doing this you will see results quickly.
