I'd like to start by saying that there's a lot of ways make money online. Many of them are not suitable for beginners. The learning curve is just too great.
One would think that setting up a Shopify store and selling products online would be an easy business to do.. Surely it couldn’t be that hard to sell physical products online, right?
Well guess again.
There is an enormous amount of competition especially from experienced marketers and could end up costing a lot to figure out a strategy that works.
Another type of online business that appears to be an easy “lay up” would be CPA Marketing (cost per action). This is a type of affiliate marketing that doesn’t even require you to sell anything.
You get paid for giving things away in exchange for and email address or filling out a form. This is known as “cost per lead.”
What could be easier than that?
The fact is, the art of online advertising (PPC) is just that, an art form. Someone could spend thousands of dollars trying to get it right and there’s no guarantee that they ever will.
AFFILIATE MARKETING
This brings us to affiliate marketing. My personal preference is for affiliate marketing in the form of blogging.
This method of making money online has a very low barrier to entry. Cost of creating a WordPress blog, web hosting and registering a domain name can be done for approximately $5 a month. No other business on the planet let’s you start a business for $5 a month. But, starting a blog is one thing, being profitable is something entirely different.
Making money blogging is an exact system. To make money online you either follow the system or you don't make money.
These are the steps:
Choosing your niche and your theme.
Building your site.
Choosing low competition keywords to build your site and content around.
Optimizing your site for search engines.
Choosing the type of content and structure.
Choosing related affiliate products to monetize your site.
Deciding on the Traffic Sources you will use. Nothing happens without traffic to your site.
Choosing your “lead capture” method. Your subscriber list is the key to your survival but is often treated like an afterthought.
If you think this is a lot, you’d be right. In fact, to the beginner it’s downright overwhelming.
It doesn’t have to be except the majority of beginner bloggers have a lot of misconceptions about the blogging set up process. Setting up your blog correctly is the determining factor for whether you will make money or not.. It’s actually ALL in the way it’s set up.
Start with a solid foundation and the whole process is very simple and the time it takes to be profitable gets cut down to about 30 - 60 days worst case.
Do this the wrong way and you might never make a dime.
